FIELD: physical engineering, possibly identifying quality parameters of objects, mainly food products such as stuffed meat, sausages, flour and so on by their spectral and three-dimensional spectral images with use of optical and automatic devices. SUBSTANCE: method for identifying object, mainly food product, comprises steps of irradiating selected portion of surface of identified product with uniformly distributed in space reference flux of electromagnetic irradiation; alternatively irradiating product with spectral narrow-band reference fluxes of electromagnetic irradiation formed of three spectral bands of light and infrared irradiation; forming in each spectral band main and additional electric signals proportional to images reflected from surface of identified object and from white-spectrum calibration gage. EFFECT: enlarged information degree and authenticity of spectrum analysis of combined distribution of structure-spectrum range of textures of slices and surfaces of identified objects. 2 cl, 2 dwg
