FIELD: power engineering; overhead power transmission and communication lines using self-carrying fiber-optic cables. SUBSTANCE: vibration damper has weights in the form of bodies of revolution of flexible damping member and clamp. Weights are press-fitted on ends of flexible member by means of cylindrical bushing which is then expanded in cylindrical through bore of weights. Chosen weights are unequal in mass; they are secured asymmetrically relative to vertical axis of clamp and at certain angle to longitudinal axis of flexible damping member. EFFECT: enhanced gain-frequency response and vibration damping capacity within wide range of resonant frequencies. 2 cl, 5 dwg
