FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves modeling plate from self-hardening plastic material corresponding in shape to the cranium defect. Holes are formed in bone near the defect boundary. Threads are brought through them and the plate is mounted in the defect. The threads are brought through the plate before its hardening. The plate is covered with organosilicon liquid layer during plastic polymerization with spontaneous heating to temperature of 30 C and higher. The plate is kept in the air 5-10 min long until silicon film is formed. EFFECT: reduced risk of postoperative complications; reduced irritation of tissues contacting prosthesis surface.
