FIELD: engine manufacture, tests of wheel and track-laying vehicles and their power plants ( engine ). SUBSTANCE: method refers to norming and correction of conditions of bench tests of engine by way of change of its velocity and load characteristics to level corresponding to operational condition of engine on motor vehicle during its full-sale test under specified road conditions by means of mean- integral hour consumption of fuel and rotation speed of engine shaft. Relation between load and speed characteristics in process of bench test is set by most probable mean statistic conditions of load of engine during test and running of motor vehicle. EFFECT: simulation of real level of load on motor vehicle during bench test of engine, prediction of failure-free performance and longevity of engine on motor vehicle under various road conditions by results of bench tests. 3 cl, 1 dwg, 9 tbl
