SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for automated control of the residual resource of a vehicle during its operation within the limits of the standard mileage in the volume of the declared resource, reduced to the 1st category of operating conditions, to assess the reliability. The vehicle is moved along the j-th support surface and the coefficient of total resistance to movement ψj in the processor module is determined. The average value generated, with a set discreteness within 10-100 km by means of the mileage meter, in the unit for the formation of the average value of the indicator is transmitted through the control unit to the unit for determining the correction coefficient calculated by dividing the average value of the coefficient for the specified distance ∆S by the number 0.046, corresponding to the value coefficient ψj in the 1st category of operating conditions. The resulting value is sent to the unit for bringing the mileage to the 1st category of operating conditions, calculated by multiplying the correction coefficient and the completed mileage for the specified path segment, and the resulting partial value is summed up in the mileage accumulation unit with the previous , compared in the mileage comparison unit with the standard mileage , and the difference in the form of a residual value from the residual value output unit is displayed on the monitor of the control unit. When the driver turns on the on-board network, the readings from the fuel consumption and distance traveled sensors and from the timer, the time of clean movement through the distance sensor are summed up and sent to the control unit monitor.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of estimation of the residual resource of the vehicle.
