SUCKER ROD (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of machines for oil production; applicable in mechanization of oil recovery from wells. SUBSTANCE: sucker rod is described in two versions. According to the first version, sucker rod has a rod with blind holes, nipples on its ends with cylindrical and conical internal surfaces on each nipple, with common axis and connecting thread on side of conical internal surface, adhesive, wedging parts. Each nipple is made with conical internal surface passing into through hole on side opposite to cylindrical internal surface. Length of internal conical surface of nipple is equal to 2.5-4.0 diameters of its internal cylindrical surface which is equal to diameter of rod. Smaller diameter of internal conical surface is equal to diameter of internal cylindrical surface of nipple. Rod has slots on its ends and possibility of its wedging due to them by wedging parts without breakage to required depth. Ratio of rod diameter Do to diameter of its blind hole is equal to 4-9. Length of rod blind hole is equal to length of slots in rod and amounts to (2.5-4)Do, and angles of half-opening of conical surfaces of nipple and wedging part are equal to each other and amounting up to 2-4 deg. According to the second version, ratio of diameter of nipple cylindrical surface to smaller diameter of its internal conical surface is equal to 1.1-1.2. Transition from cylindrical surface of nipple to its conical surface is made with a step. Rod is also made with the step which corresponds to the step on nipple. EFFECT: increased strength and durability of sucker rod, reduced weight and overall dimensions of nipple and simplification of its manufacture. 2 cl, 12 dwg
