METHOD OF DRIVING MINE WORKINGS IN MINING OF FLAT-LYING COAL SEAMS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: mining; applicable in driving of mine workings with roof bolting. SUBSTANCE: method includes coal extraction by combines, supporting of face space by temporary support, primary support of workings by cappings located across workings and bolts of the first stage with subsequent reinforcement of said support by additional bolting. Primary support of workings is effected with increased spacing of cappings installation secured by bolting of the first stage for prevention of roof separation by layers. Subsequent reinforcement of working support is carried out, with one day delay by installation along working under cappings of cross supports and their fastening by deep bolts located between bolts of the first stage to provide for required density of bolting. Length of bolts for deep bolting is determined by calculating formula. EFFECT: higher reliability of support, improved conditions for support of working, reduced expenditures for materials. 2 dwg
