SUBSTANCE: for manufacture of octahedral or icosahedral timbers two faces in the first phase of processing on the log are carried out with the aid of milling cutters, then the log is turned through 90 deg., and the next two faces are carried out in the second phase of processing with the aid of milling cutters. Immediately after that the remaining wanes are cut in the next phase of processing with the aid of four (for manufacture of octahedral timbers) or eight (for manufacture of icosahedral timbers) milling cutters.
