FIELD: alternative off-line power supplies for heating and ventilating high buildings. SUBSTANCE: windmill-turbine unit has friction-type rotor in the form of vertical shaft mounted for rotation inside casing and provided with blades vertically spaced apart at preset distance; novelty is that blades are made in the form of flat disks and adjacent ones are joined together by means of bracing members such as flexible ones; hollow shaft has in its walls, in blade-to-blade clearances, through holes; in addition, through holes are provided in flat disks in their central parts; unit casing is made in the form of wicket-gate mechanism that has vertical guide vanes mounted about rotor tangentially to outer edges of flat disks; shaft hollow is open beyond inner space of wicket-gate mechanism; unit shaft is directly coupled with loading device such as fan and/or electric generator.
