FIELD: microwave antenna-waveguide engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed miniature film load has length L≤λw/8. Longitudinal dimensions are reduced due to introduction of thin (ΔL≤0,15L) transverse insulating plate of high dielectric constant ε≥5 into load; this plate is coated with film resistor which is in reliable thermal; and electric contact with waveguide due to metal layers disposed at edges of insulating plate which are in contact with wide waveguide walls; these metal layers improve load matching conditions with respect to standing-wave ratio. Resistive film value (R) is generally lower than waveguide wave impedance Z0: R = (0,8±0,2)Z0. Load-adjusting probe is installed in short-circuited stub so that it is positioned along axis of the latter and secured at its end for contacting this stub. EFFECT: reduced longitudinal dimensions of load while ensuring good performance characteristics. 3 dwg
