FIELD: mechanical engineering; vibration protection devices. SUBSTANCE: vibration isolator has support plates, flexible member made of arc-shaped lengths of steel wire rope assembled into pairs. Lengths of steel wire ropes in each pair are arranged symmetrically relative to longitudinal axis of vibration isolator, and pairs are assembled into groups arranged symmetrically relative to cross symmetry plane and means fastening lengths of steel wire ropes to support plates. Lengths of steel wire ropes are installed at angle from 0 to 90° relative to longitudinal symmetry plane. Number of groups is at least equal to two, with at least one pair in group. Diameters of lengths of steel wire rope are either equal or equal in pair, and curvature of arcs of lengths of steel wire rope is chosen within the limits from half of height of vibration isolator to value corresponding to curve differing from straight line by 5 to 10%.
