FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: cylindrical wire-rope vibration isolator has flexible member in form of steel wire rope, first and second metal plates with holes through which coils of flexible member pass. Metal plates are solid, and coils of flexible member are fixed in cylindrical holes of plates either by casting, or welding, or press-fitting. Coils of flexible member form round straight or cylindrical cylinders. First plate is provided with second hole for screw fastening the object to be protected from vibration and holes through which two middle coils of flexible member pass are arranged at edges of second hole, and corresponding holes in second plate are arranged close to each other. Such design of metal plates, arranged of holes and fastening of coils of flexible member makes it possible to provide equality of rigidly of vibration isolator in three relatively perpendicular planes and reliability of fixation of coils.
