FIELD: mechanical engineering; vibration isolators for internal combustion engines and other machines and mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: vibration isolator has support plates and flexible member wound lengthwise onto plates in form of spiral of steel wire rope. Support plates are provided with means of laying, enclosing, fixing and fastening of coils arranged at two opposite sides of plates. Coils of spiral are wound tightly to each other, their projection of plane square to axis of vibration isolator has the form of ellipse or circle, with number of coils from 2 to 6. EFFECT: reduced overall dimensions of mass of vibration isolator, which is made power intensive featuring sufficiently high capability of dissipation of vibration energy. 9 dwg
