FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: procedure is meant to measure linear velocity of bodies traveling in space: outer space, air space, water. Position of axis along which two electromagnetic waves are emitted in opposition with angular velocity Ω, is continuously changed in space and phase difference Δϕ of these two waves is uninterruptedly measured in any point situated between locations of wave sources. Value of linear velocity is found by formula taking into account angular velocity Ω,V, electromagnetic wave velocity, oscillation frequencies of first and second generators of electromagnetic waves, distances from point where phase difference is measured to first and second generators, minimal and maximal values of derivative of phase difference in time in the course of period 22π/Ω.. Direction of velocity vector is determined by position of axis along which electromagnetic waves are emitted when maximum of derivative of phase difference is observed.
