MAGNETIC INTROSCOPE FOR MONITORING PIPE LINE WITHOUT BREAKING SOIL Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: measurement and monitoring technology; flaw detection of oil and gas lines and other pipe line structures. SUBSTANCE: magnetic introscope includes magnetic field converter, controller and video monitoring terminal, wide- band amplified, high-frequency filter, pulse shaper, amplitude detector, normalizing amplifier and analog-to-digital converter. Magnetic field converter is located on surface of soil directly above pipe line. Output of magnetic field converter is connected to wide-band amplifier, high- frequency filter, amplitude detector, normalizing amplifier, analog-to- digital converter and video monitoring terminal which are connected in series. Magnetic field converter may be made on base of ferromagnetic converters, hall sensors, magnetotransistors, magnetoresistors, bridge magnetoresistive circuits, magnetoresistors at superhigh magnetoresistive effect, thin-film magnetoresistors and induction head.
