FIELD: electrothermics. SUBSTANCE: characteristic feature of method consists in use of inductor in the form of forward and backward wire made of round tubes located on both sides of strip edge for induction heating of immobile or mobile strip. Inductor can be moved with reference to strip. Method makes it possible to heat strip for various technological processes by way of selection of length of inductor, radius of tubes, frequency and power of power supply source, relative speed of motion of inductor and billet and position of inductor relative to edges of strip.
