FIELD: foundry, namely manufacture of parts by centrifugal surfacing. SUBSTANCE: flange for centrifugal surfacing includes removable insert for controlling charge melting process in billet. Insert has cavity for placing charge; said cavity is restricted by means of two annular ribs. Flange and removable insert have mutually aligned openings communicated with atmosphere. Total thickness of flange wall and removable insert is equal to wall thickness of surfaced part; thickness of charge layer in cavity of removable insert is equal to thickness of charge layer in surfaced part. At process of surfacing, melt charge is thrown out of openings of flange and insert by action of centrifugal force. It indicates starting of charge melting in part. EFFECT: possibility for controlling charge melting process, enhanced quality of surfaced parts, enlarged manufacturing possibilities of centrifugal surfacing process. 1 dwg
