FIELD: machine engineering, possibly welding metallic parts assembled in any spatial position. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing layer of activating flux on outer surface of welded edges; placing layer of salt or mixture of salts selected from group of alkali or alkali-earth metal chlorides on inner end surface of welded edges; performing gas- shield welding along activating layer; using alkali metals selected from group containing lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium; using alkali-earth metals selected from group containing calcium, strontium, barium, beryllium, magnesium. EFFECT: enhanced welding-through capability of arc, improved stability of welded joint. 3 cl, 1 dwg
