SUBSTANCE: inert gas is supplied in the internal cavity of pipes, in this gas the gaseous halogenides are added at the following ratio of the inert gas and gaseous halogenides, wt %: inert gas 80…97, gaseous halogenides 3…20. Inert gas is selected from group: argon, helium. The gaseous halogenide is selected from the group: silicon fluoride, silicon chloride, boron fluoride, sulphur fluoride, freon.
EFFECT: method of contact butt welding improves quality of the welded joints, and mechanical characteristics of the pipe welded joints.
