FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology, amino acids. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of L-glutamic acid producing. Microorganism belonging to genus Klebsiella, Erwinia or Pantoea and showing capacity to produce L-glutamic acid is cultured in liquid cultural medium and from this cultural medium the produced L-glutamic acid is collected. The preferably used bacterial strain is the strain showing the decreased activity of enzyme catalyzing a reaction branching from a path way of biosynthesis of L-glutamic acid or with complete absence of said enzyme and producing a compound that is not L-glutamic acid; or the strain showing the enhanced activity of enzyme catalyzing the reaction of biosynthesis of L-glutamic acid. EFFECT: enhanced production of L-glutamic acid. 7 cl, 5 dwg, 4 tbl
