FIELD: organic chemistry, amino acids, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of preparing L-glutamic acid. Method involves culturing enterobacteria of genus Enterobacter, Klebsiella, Serratia, Pantoea or Escherichia. Gene encoding citrate synthase originating from coryneformous bacterium is incorporated into enterobacteria that results to producing and accumulation of L-glutamic acid in this medium. Enterobacter agglomerants or Klebsiella planticola are mainly used. Brevibacterium lactofermentum is mainly used for isolation of citrate synthase gene. Invention ensures to obtain L-glutamic acid by cheaper and more effective method. EFFECT: improved method of producing. 3 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl, 3 ex
