FIELD: mechanical engineering; diesel engines. SUBSTANCE: housing of proposed catalyst converter has inlet and outlet branch pipes, heat insulation and reaction chamber. Soot filter and porous cermet block are installed in inner space of reaction chamber. Soot filter has gauze or perforated form on which carbon thread or steel wire is wound in form of multi-layer counter-winding and is installed in reaction chamber. Porous cermet block consists of separate tandem- mounted porous cermet cylindrical elements with concentric tilted rings forming segment slots between central arm partitions made in form of blades with variable turning pitch. Alternate elements of block are oriented relative to gas flow in different planes. Porous cermet cylindrical elements are arranged coaxially with soot filter in expanded gas flow, and outlet branch pipe is installed in side wall of reaction chamber. Converter is furnished additionally with conical baffle opposite to gas flow. EFFECT: improved efficiency of cleaning. 3 dwg
