FIELD: ecology, control over radioactive contamination of environment by measurement of activity of radio nuclides in biological objects. SUBSTANCE: bog-moss functioning as sorbing surface and live absorber of radio nuclides from atmosphere is used in the capacity of biological indicator of radioactive contamination. Bog-moss is selected at selection points and its samples are prepared for exposure and as check samples for exposure on territories subject to man-induced effect. Samples of bog-moss are exposed both in most sensitive period for ecological systems and in period of maximum carrying capacity on forest territories over regular radial sampling network. Less than 2 h is spent to prepare one sample for exposure, 1.0-1.2 h is spent to prepare one sample for radiometric analysis. Samples are set in mentioned sampling network by hanging from trees or poles at height of 1.8 m from ground surface. EFFECT: increased efficiency of radiation monitoring without employment of mobile power supply units and bulky aspirator sets. 4 cl
