FIELD: search for deposits of mineral resources, search for bedrock of tantalum-niobium deposits in alkali granites and metamorphic alkali metasomatic rocks. SUBSTANCE: method of search for tantalumniobium deposits in alkali granites and metasomatic rocks includes selection of schlich samples and their mineralogical analysis. Zircons are used as indicator. Short-prismatic and dipyramidal zircons are fixed in schlich samples, contents of zirconium, tantalum, niobium are determined in zircons, network of schlich sampling is bridged with orientation on samples with maximum content of tantalum and niobium and on minimal content of zirconium. If content of zirconium dioxide is below 60-65 % and if contents of tantalum pentaoxide and niobium pentaoxide is as high as hundredth and tenth of one per cent judgment is made on presence of tantalum-niobium deposit in bed rock. EFFECT: reduced cost and increased efficiency of search.
