FIELD: furniture production. SUBSTANCE: piece of furniture has box-shaped base, platform, supporting surface composed of back, middle and outer supports, and conversion mechanism. Middle support is rigidly connected to back and pivotally to outer support, which is pivotally joined to platform. Middle support rests upon platform at middle support and back junction zone through, for example, rollers. Conversion mechanism is composed of drive spring located under middle and outer supports and adapted for joining these supports, and stop device composed of spring-loaded breaking thrust pivotally connected with its one end to platform and with its other end to outer support, and spring-loaded lock rigidly secured on transverse bar equipped with handle and located on outer support for limited angular displacement relative to its axis. Lock is engageable with holding member on platform, when middle and outer supports are extending in horizontal position, and with breaking thrust for folding thereof. Box-shaped base may be used for storing bed-clothes. EFFECT: simplified and compact construction, enhanced reliability in operation and wider operational capabilities. 4 cl, 4 dwg
