FIELD: production of furniture. SUBSTANCE: seating and lying furniture has side walls 1 rigidly fixed with respect to one another, back 2 attached to side walls and equipped with detachable cushions, and seat. Seat is composed of front part 3 and rear part 4 arranged for "lying" position and is provided with transformation mechanism. Back 2 is joined to side walls 1 through rotary device 5. Transformation mechanism comprises two pairs of three-hinged levers, each having front lever 6 with small and large arms connected to front and rear parts of seat and to plank-base. Each pair of levers 6,9 is provided with spring 22. Levers of both pairs of transformation mechanism are rigidly joined to one another to provide synchronous operation of both mechanisms and prevents seats from skewing upon folding or unfolding. Rotary device 5 of seat has pair of levers, with one end of each lever being fixed through pivot joint to internal surface of side wall 1 and other end of lever being rigidly attached to end surface of back 2. Pivot joint pin and lever attachment center on end surface of back 2 are offset with respect to one another and longitudinal axis of lever is positioned at an angle to horizontal plane. Levers are made hook-shaped or made in the form of triangle with unequal sides with rounded corners and arced sides or in the form of irregular rectangle with rounded corners. EFFECT: simplified construction of transformation mechanism, increased convenience, enhanced reliability in operation and wider operational capabilities. 5 cl, 11 dwg
