FIELD: pistons for automobile brake hydraulic cylinders. SUBSTANCE: piston is made in the form of hollow article with open end whose outer wall is cylindrical and having groove and part of inner surface adjacent to open end and overlapping level of groove location along piton axial direction, is made in the form of cylinder. Thickness of piston wall at level of open end exceeds thickness of wall adjacent to bottom to meet conditions of provision of strength of wall part with groove to axial compression stresses not less than in part adjacent to bottom. In this case, piston wall thickness between inner cylindrical surface and bottom monotonically is reduced. EFFECT: higher reliability and simplified design. 3 dwg
