ADAPTIVE PNEUMOHYDRAULIC DAMPER Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering; vehicle dampers. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for damping mechanical vibrations of sprung parts of vehicles. Proposed adaptive pneumohydraulic damper has main cylinder with covers on its end faces. Union with check valve is turned into threaded hole of upper cover to connect inner space of main cylinder with compressed gas source. Main cylinder accommodates also hollow rod with radial holes in its wall and end projecting from main cylinder space through cup-type seal in upper cover, piston rigidly coupled with rod and dividing space of main cylinder into rod and roadless spaces which are filled each with compressed gas and liquid. Throttling bushing installed coaxially in rod space is rigidly coupled with rod. Rod space accommodates also stem and hollow restrictor installed on guide stem for longitudinal travel between stops. One end of guide stem is provided with head coupled through spring and adjusting screw with outer end of hollow rod. Other end is connected with additional piston. Piston is provided with longitudinal calibrated hole and is arranged in rodless space of main cylinder in its part filled with liquid. It has also hinges heads one of which is secured on outer of rod and the other is made integral with lower cover. Additional cylinder with bottom closed from to with cover is connected to main cylinder. Additional cylinder accommodates piston with central stop and sealing cup. EFFECT: provision of optimum damping of railway vehicles on sectional of tracks of good and satisfactory condition, both at small and big vibration amplitudes. 1 dwg
