METHOD OF CONNECTION OF AUTOMOBILE AUXILIARIES Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: automotive industry; passive safety. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at provision of safety of driver and passengers in service owing to absence of fasteners at adhesive attachment of automobile auxiliary articles of plane of sun visors. Said method is based on holding mass of auxiliary article using adhesive properties of foamed polyurethane mixture. Sun visor skeleton is placed in split mould into which foamed polyurethane mixture is fed. Sun visor mould is kept in contact with plane of auxiliary article till complete hardening of mixture at maximum adhesive connection of surfaces. Then edges of article are subjected to full loading within the limits of its sinking flush with mould. After extraction of sun visor spatial frame with self-lockable axial members provided with conical lock in base is installed relative to embedded skeleton. End face surfaces of axial members hold spatial frame relative to auxiliary article secured in spatial frame and limited by clearance of working field frame. Foamed polyurethane in process of hardening features high adhesive properties making it possible to dispense with fasteners from sun visor attachment units used in transport. Practical approbation of result of destruction of mirror at high speeds has proved high adhesive properties of mirror fitting to mixture of foamed polyurethane. Contact speeds at which tests have been carried out are 248,2 km/h, 123,2 km/h, 132 km/h, 131 km/h, 130,9 km/h, 129 km/h at equal deceleration of impact for each speed being 3 μs. Results obtained has proved high efficiency of new method facilitating production and fastening of auxiliaries at improved design and ergonomic characteristics of articles.
