FIELD: video engineering; professional video cameras. SUBSTANCE: proposed video camera relates to camera-type coders characterized in the use of image compression and digital recording of audio and video data obtained into memory and their storage therein in compressed state. Newly introduced in camera are audio and video signal compression and decompression units using MPEG-2 technology which are connected to common bus, set of controllers to provide for storage of digital data in compressed state for their transmission to interfaces of miscellaneous devices whose software and hardware are capable of receiving and processing this information. Data compression makes it possible to save greater amount of data at standard capacity of data base.
