FIELD: mining industry; applicable in protection of mine workings from effect of shock air waves and neutralization of explosion products in bulk caving of rock mass. SUBSTANCE: method includes location of vessels with water on water on way of shock wave propagation, placing of explosive charges in said vessels and their blasting. Installed just behind vessels with water are vessels filled with compressed air, on side opposite to place of major blast for creation of air-water bulkhead. Air-water bulkhead is formed at a distance from place of blast determined by formula L1 = N(τin+V1+V2), where L1 is a distance from place of blast to air-water bulkhead; N is velocity of shock wave propagation; τin is time of initiation of explosive charges; V1 is velocity of spreading of water mixture; V2 is velocity of compressed air spreading. Prior to blast, placed into vessels with water is chemical absorber, and explosive charges are placed into vessels with compressed air. In this case, explosive charges located in vessels with water and compressed air are blasted by common circuit with charges of major blast. Water bulkhead is made in the form of concave curved shield with concave side directed towards shock air wave. EFFECT: higher efficiency of damping of energy of shock air wave and neutralization of toxic products of explosion. 3 dwg
