FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy; applicable in hydrometallurgical processing of manganese ores into manganese concentrates of various purposes. SUBSTANCE: method includes treatment of ore ground to size of 5-25 mm at temperature of 40-90 C with 5.3-12.0 N hydrochloric acid and S:L=1:(3.0-8.0). Liberated chloride is absorbed by alkali solution. After pulp settling and decantation of liquid phase, impurity hydroxides are precipitated at pH 4.0-6.0 and manganese concentrate is separated by mixing manganese salt solution with solution of after absorption of chlorine at mixture temperature of 50-90 C with pH maintained within 9-12.0 Manganese concentrate is washed with hot water at S:L=1:(2.5-3.5), filtered out and dried at elevated temperature. The method makes it possible to process manganese ores of various mineralogical compositions containing less than 30% of manganese with simultaneous increase of ore concentration degree and manganese recovery up to 94%. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 1 dwg, 2 tbl, 3 ex
