FIELD: construction engineering; designed for use in load-carrying structures of construction engineering, shipbuilding, aircraft and other industries. SUBSTANCE: for manufacture of composite article, layers of glass material is placed between metal layers, produced package of sheets is heated for softening of glass material and compressed up to fit them snugly against one another. Final operation consists in holding of package in compressed position to obtain joining of sheets. Method provides for possible bending of cooling package to impart the required shape to article. EFFECT: higher strength and shock resistance of material, reduced weight of used metal in article manufactured from said material. 2 cl, 1 dwg
