FIELD: structural engineering.
SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of production of a composition item on a base of glass and is dealt with building engineering and is intended for production of strong items, which may be used in construction, shipbuilding, engineering industry, aircraft industry and other branches of engineering. The technical problem is creation of a composite item on the base of a glass with use of metal sheathings permitting to realize in a commercial scale the known regularities of increasing a strength and impact resistance of the glass material without considerable restrictions on thickness of the composite and change on density the glass material in the transitional field of cooling from a liquid up to a glassy state. The method provides for filling in spaces between sheathings by a molten glass material and shaping of an item by a cooling the glass material. For this purpose the molten bath of the glass material is poured into a cavity of then external metal sheathing. Then by pressing the internal metal sheathing in a composite item is formed. Then a metal butt component is superimposed on it and pressed in the glass material keeping a value of the pressing force up to termination of the process of formation pf the item. Then disconnect the heating system of the metal sheathing and the butt component is switched off and the process of cooling of a composition item begins.
EFFECT: the invention ensures to production of a composite items on the base of glass material with usage of metal sheathings in a commercial scale.
