FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for preparation of alloys of non- ferrous metals, specifically, of magnesium with zirconium. Process includes treatment of melt of alloying composition magnesium-zirconium in alternating magnetic field. Solenoid with ratio of its half-length to radius equal to 0.1-0.3 and magnetic field intensity upwards of 0,5•104 A/m is employed in process. Gear for realization of process has melting furnace with crucible, conduit feeding melt arranged along axis of solenoid and solenoid connected to A C source. EFFECT: enhanced degree of assimilation of zirconium by magnesium. 2 cl, 1 dwg
