SUBSTANCE: method of protecting against short circuits at electrochemical dimensional working while creating forced oscillations of one of electrodes synchronously with voltage pulses comprises steps of drawing electrodes together (before starting working) until their contact for providing deformation of mechanical system close to that in working condition; allowing working only after realizing such contacts during several periods of oscillations in range of zone determined while taking into account maximally admissible deformations of mechanical system.
