FIELD: manufacture of machine parts with complex-shape surfaces such as die set impressions, press-molds, large-area casting molds. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of transforming motion of oscillating electrode at each cycle to cyclic motion including five successive in time fragments of harmonic oscillations of different circular frequencies; providing accurate interelectrode gap while taking into account time duration of mutual contact of electrodes beginning from time moment of lower position of oscillating electrode until time moment of their drawing apart; realizing separate control of initial and final values of working gap, of working period, washing out period, speed of feeding and removing electrode.
