FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gasostatic support mechanisms of rotors with vertical and horizontal axis of rotation. Proposed gasostatic support mechanism of rotors contains gasostatic support unit with carrying surfaces of movable and fixed parts corresponding to each other in shape. Hole is made in center of fixed part to deliver gaseous working medium to carrying surfaces coupled with device producing gaseous working medium with pressure exceeding atmospheric pressure. Mechanism employs superheated vapor generator to produce gaseous working medium of pressure higher than atmospheric pressure.
