FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring intraocular pressure at least three times on an eye with not greater than 30 s long pauses between the measurements accompanied with short-term compression created by freely falling intraocular pressure-measuring body including the stock during measurement process through eyelid in the area of sclera. The obtained intraocular pressure values are compared to the upper limit of normal intraocular pressure and to each other. At least one intraocular pressure value greater than the upper limit of normal intraocular pressure or one exceeding any previous intraocular pressure value by 3 mm of mercury column or more being detected, initial glaucoma stage is considered to be the case. EFFECT: higher number of initial stage glaucoma cases being diagnosed. 2 cl
