FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology; surgery; neurological traumatology; neurology.

SUBSTANCE: tonometer can be used for non-invasive measurement of intraeye pressure through lid by express method, for checking rightness of glaucoma treatment, for individual control of intraeye pressure without using analgesics. Tonometer has protection casing with case, movable bushing mounted in tonometer, which bushing has guides and support. Contact area of support is disposed at distance of 7-10 mm from axis of motion of free falling body made for resilient deformation of organ through lid; measuring converter of body's linear movement, which converter is connected with microprocessor. Tonometer has removable holder with mirror and support post for head to keep the latter at proper position, detector for checking angular deflection of axis of motion of freely falling body from vertical line. Detector is connected with aids for forming sonic or light signal-warning on position of axis of motion of freely falling body during measurement; detector is connected with the aids through microprocessor. Removable holder is made for movement along protecting casing and for fixation at working position to perform visual control of mutual position of end of lid, limb of eye and support in mirror.
