WATER TRAP Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: heat and power engineering, namely constructional members of heat mass exchange apparatuses of cooling towers, cooling blowers and other graduators for trapping moisture drops. SUBSTANCE: water trap includes set of corrugated sheets with mounting openings mutually joined along horizontal axis by means of connection tubes. Corrugated sheets are U-shaped and(or) V-shaped ones and they form crossing ducts as adjacent corrugated sheets are turned one relative to another by 180 degrees in such a way that direction of corrugation varies for each next sheet. Sheets have U-shaped and(or) V-shaped corrugations arranged along sheet in two zones inclined by mutually opposite angles in such a way that mutually crossing corners of U-shaped and(or) V-shaped lengthwise corrugations rest one upon another. Horizontal axis passes through center of sheet. Connection tubes are provided with plugs. Corrugated sheets are made of incombustible polymeric material such as polyvinyl chloride. EFFECT: lowered water drop discharge, enhanced assembling process of water trap, improved fire proofness of cooling tower. 3 dwg
