FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, magnesium winning by electrolysis. SUBSTANCE: process of manufacture and mounting of lining on hearth of electrolyzer comprising heat insulation and refractory layers includes manufacture of separate blocks, their installation on heat insulation layer and filling of spaces between blocks with sealing material. Multilayer blocks are manufactured by way of preparation of shell of high-strength refractory material, placement of heat insulation material in it and by drying with use of isothermal curing and cooling. Heat insulation layer comes in the form of supports between which heat insulation material is located. Multilayer blocks are put on supports and additional layer of refractory material is placed on blocks above. Material possessing thermal conductivity factor under 0.04 W/mK, for instance, basalt or fluoro-phlogopite fiber, is utilized in the capacity of heat insulation material. Material with open porosity not higher than 16%, for example, fluoro-phlogopite casting or high-aluminous concrete, is used as high- strength refractory material. Isothermal curing of blocks is carried out at temperature above 225 C. Refractory chemically-resistant material is employed as refractory material of additional layer. Shells of blocks are produced with use of reinforcement from chemically-resistant material, for instance, stainless steel or fluoroplastic. EFFECT: prolonged service life of electrolyzer. 5 cl, 2 dwg
