FIELD: time synchronization of mobile and base stations in expanded-spectrum communication system. SUBSTANCE: each frame transmitted over pilot-signal channel in expanded-spectrum communication system is divided into plurality of time synchronization spaces. Each of time synchronization spaces incorporates pilot-signal code and at least one of time synchronization spaces includes frame synchronization code For retrieval of information concerning frame synchronization and time space from data transmitted over pilot-signal channel pilot-signal code is checked for timing by using matched filter or correlation with pilot-signal received by identifying maxima and using these maxima for detecting clock signal pointing to boundaries of time synchronization space. Then set of known frame synchronization codes is correlated with signal received with respect to content of time synchronization spaces found therein. Considering that when correlation is detected at definite point of time space, location of known frame synchronization code (codes} in frame is known and position of frame boundary (that is frame synchronization) relative to this code is also known. EFFECT: provision for transmission at character repetition frequency. 17 cl, 8 dwg
