FIELD: chemical-heat treatment processes, namely applying wear resistant coatings. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying metal layers and heat treatment of them in inert medium for combining layers at formation of intermetallide compounds; applying metal layers by means of explosion welding; at first applying copper layer, then - titanium layer at keeping relation of thickness values of copper and titanium layers in range (0.5 - 1.5): 1 respectively. Total thickness of said layers is equal to target thickness of wear resistant layer. Heat treatment is realized at 885-1080 C and at soaking during 1 - 4 hours. Method provides formation on surfaces of steel parts intermetallide layer with thickness 0.5 - 2.5 mm.
