FIELD: skin-processing industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves three stages: first stage comprising defatting in rotating drum dipped into bath containing water with liquid coefficient of 1.5-2.0, temperature of 25 C plus and minus 1 C; adding synthetic detergent in an amount of 1.5 % by weight of raw skin; second stage comprising defatting in rotating drum containing defatting compound, with skin and compound weight ratio being from 1:2 to 1:4 and with drum being filled to 15-30% of its volume; third stage comprising beating and stretching dried skin; defatting with organic solvent having liquid coefficient of 1.0, temperature not in the excess of 25 C in hermetically sealed volume; periodically mixing for 8-15 min at the ratio of 1:1.
