METHOD FOR PRODUCING OF DRY FISH COLLAGEN Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: fish industry, in particular, production of dry collagen from fish floats in fish-processing houses.

SUBSTANCE: method involves washing fish floats with running water; removing outer fat and tissue trims and cutting according to shape of sheet; washing float inner surface with running water; mechanically separating collagen and salting it in saline solution at density of 1.2 g/cm3 for 1-2 hours at liquid coefficient of 2 and temperature of solution below 150C; removing said solution and soaking collagen in aqueous-alcoholic solution prepared at purified water to ethyl alcohol ratio of 3:2 for 3-5 hours at liquid coefficient of 2 and temperature of solution below 150C; removing said solution; defatting collagen and dehydrating by organic solvent (ethyl alcohol or acetone) at liquid coefficient of 1 for 1-2 hours at temperature below 200C; removing solvent; grinding collagen by means of chopper and drying chopped collagen in air at temperature below 300C until moisture content is below 18%. Collagen produced by said method keeps its natural properties for prolonged storage time and, consequently, may be used in medicine and cosmetics for production of medicinal preparations and cosmetic means, as well as food products, and may be further used in restoration works.

EFFECT: increased cleaning extent of resultant collagen, provision for keeping natural properties for prolonged storage time and wider range of use.
