FIELD: metallurgy, more specifically, steel continuous casting. SUBSTANCE: invention covers improved unit 30a, b with tube of beaver shape which is easily replaced at its position above casting mold 20 for thin castings with the help of common mechanism 22 for tubes replacement. Unit includes rectangular plate 3 and tube body 7 having round upper end secured to plate hole for receiving molten metal, and lower end 15 whose top is lengthened for tapping of molten metal into hole of mold for thin castings. Upper end of tube body is secured to plate hole so that longitudinal axis of lengthened lower end of tube body is oriented at an angle of approximately 25-55 deg with respect to line orthogonal to parallel sides 4a, b of plate 3. Such an angular attachment ensures possible location of two and more tube units in a row that makes it possible for plates of adjacent tube units to touch one another but prevents contact of lengthened tapping ends of unit tube bodies. In its turn, it enables common mechanism for tube replacement to replace one of improved units provided with tube of beaver shape with some other unit above mold for thin castings without need of use of some intermediate parts, or modification of mechanism for replacement of tubers.
