FIELD: automatic test of materials and articles with use ultrasound. SUBSTANCE: technical result of invention consists in possibility of vertical movement of acoustic system and in its fixing at specified distance from surface of article and in provision for automatic inclination of it in two mutually perpendicular directions. Acoustic system of multichannel immersion flaw detector integrates plate carrying piezoelectric converters, facility for its vertical movement, plate attachment and device for plate inclination in two mutually perpendicular planes coming in the form of double gimbal suspension comprising two metal frames inserted one into another. Outer frame can rotate with reference to axle made fast to columns in one plane and inner frame carrying plate with converters can rotate around its axle made fast to outer frame in perpendicular plane. Plate is tilted in different planes with the aid of two toothed sectors made fast to each frame, two gears engaged with sectors anchored on shafts of controlled reversible electric motors.
