FIELD: forestry engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves giving a coat of air-mechanical foam of medium aeration degree all over the boundary of a strip zone to be burnt out according to a plan. Next to it, combustible forest material within the boundaries marked by foam rollers in moving along the strip on the windward side. Fire spreads propagates all over the strip area but does not cross the boundaries marked by the foam ridges. The foam gradually turns to liquid impregnating the soil layer preventing it against complete subsurface burning-through. The superior parts of the foam ridge envelop combustible material lying on the ground and excludes chances for fire to violate the foam boundary. EFFECT: lower power consumption; small probability for fire to escape from the scope marked by burnt out zone.
