FIELD: fire-fighting facilities. SUBSTANCE: method involves laying mine strip at predetermined distance from ground fire; burning soil surface combustible materials along line extending between fire front and mine strip and spaced from mine line by distance equal to width of strip to be burnt; simultaneously applying fire-suppressing compound along lines dividing strip into tapes, onto combustible materials. Fire produced by burning combustible material is blown by fair wind facilitating rapid burning of combustibles, while excessive growth of fire intensity is prevented by the effect of fire-extinguishing powder compound. EFFECT: increased efficiency of firing process by controllable burning of strip to prevent fire from being transferred through mine strip. 1 dwg
